CBD Oils for Dogs

CBDPet – A review on this CBD Oil for Pets

There are a lot of companies currently trying to enter the ever growing CBD market but how do you know if they are a good quality product, worth trying and worth the investment.

In the following review I am going to take a look at CBDPet which markets a line of tinctures (oils) for pets (dogs and cats) and provide answers to these questions.

Who is CBDPet?

CBDPet is just one brand within the NutraPure family. Other brands include CBDPure and Excellent Hemp. CBDPet is the brand that is designated for the health of household pets and the equine market.

NutraPure is a premier research and distribution company within the hemp arena. They are based in Vancouver, Washington and have been in business for about 6 years. They do have an A+ accreditation from the BBB and were recently listed as one of the first 11 companies to be licensed by Washington’s Department of Agriculture under the Industrial Hemp Research Pilot program.

They have an experienced team dedicated to the research, development, optimization, and marketing of premium oil-based hemp extracts and natural hemp derivatives. They are striving to become the leading global brand in hemp solutions, expanding to reach consumers across the globe.

CBDPet Quality

There are a number of factors that go into determining a good quality CBD Oil. Let’s take a look at those factors and see how CBDPet
measures up.

  • Source and Purity: This oil is made with organically grown hemp from Colorado. The hemp is 100% free of any synthetic or artificial ingredients.
    • The hemp plant is a hyperaccumulator and absorbs everything it finds in the soil it is cultivated in. As a result any pesticides, heavy metals, fungus or bacteria that is in the ground or used on the plant will end up in the plant and as a result in the final product. As a result we are looking for product that is organic and free of any synthetics and artificial ingredients like this product.
  • Production Method:
    • They use a CO2 extraction process. This method uses pressurized carbon dioxide to pull the desired phytochemical (like CBD) from the plant. This process is free of harsh chemicals, is environmentally friendly and non-toxic. CO2 extraction is considered one of the most expensive however one of the safest plant extraction methods in the world.
    • The oil is cold pressed and unrefined. This means that the plant is minimally processed using mechanical extraction and low-temperature controlled conditions. Using this method allows the end product (the oil) to retain the natural value of the hemp plant without the use of any chemicals.
    • Cold pressed and unrefined – Retains the natural value of the hemp plant without the use of any chemicals, CO2 extraction – cleanest and safest possible method to ensure they maintain the full spectrum cannabinoids
  • Full Spectrum: CBDPet uses the whole plant rather than just bits and pieces. Studies have shown that this provides the best therapeutic effects as you are getting all the benefits of the plant and as well as the most CBD.
  • Amount of THC: All OF THEIR oils contain less than 0.3% THC.

Lab Testing

CBDPet prides themselves on having the highest standards for quality, purity and potency. They use a third party to test for Cannabinoid Profiling, Pesticide Testing, Microbiological Screening, Terpene Analysis and Residual Solvent Testing.

They provide do provide a copy of the recent lab test results on their website.

CBDPet only offers one product in their pet line (at this time) and it is a 100 mg CBD Oil tincture. They do state that this is the same product that they sell under their other CBD Line, CBDPure, which is directed at people. Therefore, if you need a higher mg bottle you can purchase that thru CBDPure instead.

  • $24.99 for one bottle
  • $67.50 for three bottles (a 10% discount or a savings of $2.49 per bottle)
  • $119.99 for six bottles (a 20% discount or savings of $9.98 per bottle)

Despite being the same product the 100 mg bottle of CBDPet is actually slightly cheaper than the 100 mg bottle of CBDPure ($29.99). This is something I have seen often with some medications where it has been cheaper to purchase the pet version despite the products being practically identical and therefore this was not a surprise.

The price itself is reasonable as the price is determined based on the quality of the product. Purchasing more product does provide a discount so it could be advantageous to purchase in “bulk” or to get with another pet parent when making a purchase.

CBDPet currently ships within the United States to all but three states (they do not ship to Arkansas (AR), Kansas (KS), and Louisiana (LA). They do not currently ship internationally.

The CBDPure website does state that they can ship CBDPure to every U.S. State and that they do not ship internationally outside of the United States, Canada and U.K. So if you do wish to have this product for your pet but in a location CBDPet does not ship to however CBDPure does, you can use the CBDPure oil for your pet instead.

Shipping is not included in the price and currently appears to be $6.95 for most locations.

Customer Service

CBDPet does provide excellent customer service. They provide a live chat on their website and the people answering have been able to answer all of my questions promptly. The staff is friendly and appears to be well-informed (with both the CBDPet and CBDPure products) with immediate answers to your questions.

Return Policy

They offer a 90 day 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. If you are not happy with the product be it that your pet is not experiencing the benefits you were looking for or are just not happy with the result you can send your order back within 90 days for a refund of your purchase price.

Pet Products

Currently they only offer a 100 mg CBD Oil Tinctures (liquid). If you wish to have a higher mg bottle you can do so thru their site directed to people (CBDPure) but not thru their pet line. CBDPet

  • Each bottle is 2 oz (60 ml)
  • 1 ml (approximately ½ a dropper) contains 1.6 mg of CBD (a daily serving is considered to be approximately 2 ml (a ½ a dropper twice a day) and contains 3.3 mg of CBD)
  • Contains less than 0.3% THC
  • Full Spectrum
  • Made with 100% Natural and Organic Hemp
  • Non-GMO

Their website has a spot dedicated to testimonials of their product. Some of those testimonials can be found below.

Final Thoughts

CBD Oil can provide a number of benefits for your dog (see other articles on this website for more specific information) and CBDPet provides a good quality product that can help your dog with those issues.

CBDPet provides a high quality organic product and provide a 90-day return policy. This is a product that I feel comfortable using for my dogs and would recommend to others.

  1. Woooww … I was searching for something like this for my pet . Finally found it .. Thank you so much . you have explained in details about the product and I really appreciate it

  2. Great information to know! Thank you for the very informative review. I am always wondering how to truly know what is really what when it comes to all the new rules and regs within the industry and who is who on testing. I will for sure keep this company in mind as a more reputable company to do business with and I will be watching for future products of interest 🙂

    1. It can be so hard to separate all the information out there and determine what’s what with so many companies entering this new arena (so to speak). I’m glad this could help and I am already working on reviewing some other products and will post that information in the coming weeks.

  3. Loved this post about CBD oil, no need to look any further. I love the fact that it is organic. So many chemicals in products these days. I just want my pets to be healthy.

    1. I agree – if I want healthy and organic products for me it’s what I want for my babies as well. Looking for good quality organic products can be hard these days. Glad this helped 🙂

  4. I’m glad I found your site. A friend of mine recommended cbd oil to me for my dog but I wasn’t sure if it was safe so i’ve been doing some digging. You really explain everything well here and I think this might be a good product to try. You were very insightful. Do you think this is a good fit for a male dog, 12 years old who has aches and pains? Thanks so much for sharing.

    1. I do. I actually purchased this for my boys (well 2 of them the puppy is OK right now). One of them is 12 and he had surgery a little over a year ago for a torn ACL. The other is 8 with some hip issues. Both are bigger dogs (the 12 year old is 68 pounds and the 8 year old is around 100 pounds). So far this seems to be helping which is wonderful.

  5. This is really a great review on this product. I wanted to read your review, as I just came across their website yesterday. I am very interested in this product for my own dog, as he has cushings disease and dementia. Poor guy.
Now that I have read your review, I will seriously be looking into getting this product.
CBD is such a relevant product now with it becoming legal in Canada.
Great job and best of luck.

  6. very interesting to hear! Didn’t know what cbd for dogs was now I understand thanks for clearing up confusion.
